Top 5 RHCP Songs #3 - Make You Feel Better
Two songs off of Stadium?! Jesse, you don’t know what you’re talking about. It’s a list of personal preference, hypothetical debater, and also I don’t care about your opinions.
1. Stadium could have done well to be one disc of the highlights of the ambitious two-album effort and would have been a contender for best RHCP album. Hands down. I would have liked to see this, with the B-level tracks released as a B-sides. But fuck it, we were given a frantic two-disc occasional masterpiece that to me perfectly embodied this band.
2. This song deserves to be amongst the RHCP elite. Chad Smith destroys his drums and creates a beautiful beat, the lyrics are sexy and glorious and the song is funky as hell. It is the quintessential RHCP track bringing their style full circle and modern.
“Hop along to the cowboy beat, when I feel your fire jump up to meet.” and “In a world that has run amok, I’ve got to set my sights just to get struck.” are two of my favorite Peppers lines.

Top 5 favorite songs.
#5 - Wolf Like Me - TV on the Radio
It’s incredibly well written lyrically and the music, as it often is with TV, is incredibly powerful and charged. Also, it’s one of the greatest songs ever written about sex; an honest break down of the instinctive nature of it and the acknowledgement that “corruption” isn’t always a bad thing. Also, it’s just a jam. Rock N’ Roll with hella soul. The line “My mind has changed my body’s frame, but God I like it” will forever be one of my favorite to sing along to.
